Women Entrepreneur Grant

 Welcome Babe!

Well, hello there! Cheers to you for carving out the time to learn more about Eat Me Guilt Free's female entrepreneurship grant "You Glow Girl"! We started the program earlier this year to support a highly deserving boss babe in taking her business to the next level. While 2021 applications are currently closed, keep reading to learn more about where we're at in the selection process plus ways to stay in-the-know about what we have in store for the 2022 grant.

For those of you that are new to the brand, welcome to the family! For those of you that have been following us for a while, then you know how much this grant means to us and to Cristie Besu, our Found and CEO. Cristie has been making drool-worthy, guilt-free treats for more than five years. As a mother of three and a business owner, she made significant sacrifices to launch her brand, having first-hand experience of the hardships and barriers that limit many female entrepreneurs from succeeding. As a result of her personal experience, Cristie developed this grant to pay it forward to the next generation of female entrepreneurs ready to live out their business dreams.

The 2021 grand prize package was holistically designed to not only financially support one fortunate femme's business dreams, but also to help her physically and mentally level-up. The winner will receive:

  • $10,000 cash award to help propel her business forward
  • One-year supply of Eat Me Guilt Free products to keep a girl fueled on the hustle
  • A Peloton bike to make sure she can keep her fitness on in 2021
  • One-year mentorship program with Cristie, girl power!
Applications for the 2021 grant are closed. Meet our grand prize winner!

YGG 2021 Winner!

Amanda Sheridan, founder of BagValet, was the perfect match for the 2021 You Glow Girl prize package. Working as an ride-share driver to help support her family, she immediately became aware of an ongoing problem that inconveniences Charleston visitors and travelers every day - hauling luggage into small shops, restaurants and even through cobblestone streets. In response, she created a revolutionary service - BagValet aims to assist travelers to bridge the gap between lodging accommodations and flight times by providing daily luggage storage with the convenience of door-to-door service. Like any great entrepreneur, Amanda saw a problem and turned it into an opportunity. She has gracefully sifted through the challenges of being a female business owner in a male-dominated space and has simultaneously grown and led a small team. After the worst recession in hospitality history and a difficult time managing her personal health goals throughout quarantine, 2020 posed some unique challenges. After spending some time focusing on her health and her business, Amanda kicked off 2021 doing 400x the volume than pre-pandemic. She has worked hard to form partnerships with AirBnb property managers, tour partners and even the Charleston International airport! She’s looking to level-up her technology and expand to service new cities soon. We’re so excited to support Amanda personally and professionally as she continues to push BagValet to reach it’s full potential.
