A Glimpse Into My World
This year has been unbelievable. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the EMGF family’s support. With many unforgettable changes and milestones, I wanted to create this monthly newsletter to keep you up to date with what’s happening in our world.
My Mompreneur Story
Some of you don’t know I’m a mompreneur. As a single mom, juggling three kids while building a business has been anything but easy. This month I got to share a little bit about my journey with NBC6 In The Mix. When it came time to tell my story, many emotions resurfaced as I reflected on lessons I’ve learned along the way. The biggest lesson, one I’m glad to share with other entrepreneurs, is redefining balance. Balance isn’t about feeling like everything is always together; it’s about the ups and downs and handeling them with courage and determination.
Our First Vacation
I finally took my first vacation with my children since I started Eat Me Guilt Free. There were so many times when I doubted what I was building and the sacrifices I was making, but this trip reaffirmed that my vision wasn’t just wishful thinking. My children didn’t sign up to have a mompreneur and I know it’s been challenging for them at times. Finally being closer to give them what I dreamed I could is rewarding in ways I can’t begin to describe.
We started a new chapter of Eat Me Guilt Free and moved into a beautiful new location just a block from where we started. While moving was chaotic, it was well worth it. Interior design has always been a hobby of mine (who knows, maybe a future business), so I really enjoyed creating a workspace that’s full of life and energy. Our grand opening is quickly approaching on October 10th. I’m thrilled to share the new EMGF headquarters with friends, family, and supporters.
I flew to the Big Apple for 24 hours to see Eat Me Guilt Free on the runway for New York Fashion Week. My sister joined me and it was all fun and games until I saw the logo on the platform. My eyes were suddenly filled with tears; it was absolutely surreal. We’re already planning our event calendar for 2020 and can’t wait to see EMGF take part in even more incredible events.
Did You Know?
Only 2% of women-owned businesses ever make it to $1 million in revenue, which is 3.5 times less than their male counterparts. Now that we have this new space, I’m elated to announce that we will be hosting a networking event for female entrepreneurs. I can’t wait to connect with other strong, ambitious women in our community. Stay tuned for details.
